A forbidden romance.

But when her life becomes entwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she finds herself at the centre of a violent struggle between the desires of an evil queen – and a dangerous temptation.
Cinder is caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal. Now she must uncover secrets about her mysterious past in order to protect Earth’s future.
This is not the fairytale you remember. But it’s one you won’t forget.
MY THOUGHTS:
I wasn’t sure how I’d like a book based on fairytales because I’m not a giant fan of them from the start. However, this series had me hooked from the beginning and it was such an interesting and refreshing take on the idea.
It has love, friendship, robots, vulnerability, bravery, and heartbreak.
There were two slightly off-putting instances during the series where comments were jokingly made about a sex-change and where a man was pretending to be a woman. It wasn’t quite made to seem like a “bad” thing, but it still felt a little yucky to me. (I’m judging the text as a complete supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community.) But, this was all very brief and I felt that the series overall did well with integrating different cultures and social classes.
